I feel so grateful to know who I am. I know that we are all children of God no matter our background, race, religion, etc. This is a blessing that I'm sure I often take for granted. Over the past few days, in class and at church, this thought has struck me over and over. It makes me question how I treat those around me, and wonder what I see when I look at another person. Do I see who they really are?

Reading in the New Testament has caused me to once again soak up the lessons Christ teaches us in regard to the worth of individuals. Jesus does not only teach the rich or the intelligent or the most righteous. As was mentioned in my New Testament class, "Jesus ministers to the least, the last, and the lost."

I heard a quote recently and I shared it with my girls during our weekly Community Standards meeting (I'm an R.A. in the dorms). It's by B. H. Roberts and states: "In the essentials let there be unity. In the non-essentials, let there be liberty. In all things let there be charity." It was neat to listen to the feedback my girls gave in regards to how this quote applies to them personally, and to our building as a whole. There are some essentials in which we must be united, but we are all different-and that's okay! However, we must have charity in all things. We must try to see everyone through the eyes that Christ sees us. We must strive to love and accept others and treat them the way Jesus would. He has taught us through example, and that coupled with the Spirit can be the strongest teacher.
